ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE

The Research Group for Antimicrobial Resistance and Molecular Epidemiology at the National Food Institute, DTU focus at performing surveillance of antimicrobial resistance among bacteria from food animals, and at conducting targeted research with the aim of reducing the occurrence of antimicrobial resistant bacteria among food animals and food products.

Evolution and adaptation of antimicrobial resistance
With the aim to find new strategies to combat bacterial pathogens or delay resistance development, research in the area of evolution and adaptation of antimicrobial resistance in bacterial populations is being conducted. This is useful in predicting appearance of new resistance problems
