Pilot: National EQA provision

Pilot sites: Bangladesh and Nepal

Established in 2022, EQAsia has embarked on a pilot project dedicated to establish and strengthen the provision of national External Quality Assessments (NEQA) within the region.

Two sites have been selected for a further process: Nepal and Bangladesh.

In 2023, EQAsia conducted baseline assessments examining laboratory capacity and quality management systems to guide the training efforts and further assistance.

Commencing in 2024, the pilot sites will undergo extensive training. They will receive both theoretical and practical training, tailored materials, including protocols and guidelines customized for national EQA provision, as well as guidance on the utilization of data collection tools.

Throughout the process, EQAsia remains committed to offering supervision on Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the provision of EQAs on vital procedures such as culture collection, analysis and report writing. Identified gaps will be addressed through continuous support from EQAsia, ensuring that the laboratories align with proficiency testing provider requirements.to guide the laboratory to meet the proficiency testing provider requirements.
